Slowing and Settling

After a few days of being extremely active, the yeast has settled down a bit and things are settling. The airlock is bubbling only a few times a minute compared to about 60-70 times a minute at the start.

The beer has cleared up a bit as much of the yeast and hop particles have dropped out of solution and settled near the bottom of the fermenter. There is still a good bit of krausen (the foamy stuff) sitting on top for now. As the process continues more of that will drop to the bottom as well.

I won’t have to do anything with the batch until Monday night when I add the dry hops. After that, I’ll drop in some biofine to help clear up the beer a bit and before you know it the batch will be bottled.

That’s all for now. I’ll have a new update on dry hop day.

Cheers,

TJ
